Position Summary:   
Performs a variety of different tasks, such as, the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, trucks, service vehicles and structural fabrication.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs maintenance, repair and cleaning activities of tools and equipment Remove this line
• Responsible for maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, trucks, service vehicles and structural fabrication
• Performs a variety of tasks involving use of hands and tools, such as welding and operating power tools, i.e., drills and saws
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
• Welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, and stick
• Assembles parts by bolting and riveting.
• Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools. 
• Operates the overhead crane
• Operates a forklift as needed
• Perform other routine duties as directed by supervisor
   

KnOWLEDGE, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to read blue prints and sketches
• Must be able to work rapidly and accurately with hands
• Must be able to repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure
• Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and carry tools and equipment
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required
• Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing 50 - 75 pounds
• Must be able to use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods
• Must be able to judge straight lines, spaces, and proportions
• Must be able to read and understand measuring tools and levels
• Must be able to compare and see differences in the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects
• Must be able to work for 10-12 hours per day
• Must be able to maintain physical strength and stamina

 
Education and Experience:

• High school graduate/GED
• 1 to 2 years of experience/ 5 or more years of experience
