Asphalt Laborer
Kokosing is looking for an Asphalt Laborer for their Asphalt / Heavy Highway operations in the Columbus, Ohio area.  Kokosing is one of America's 60 largest General Contractors and services a broad spectrum of clients in both the private and public business sectors. Summary
The Asphalt Laborer performs many different tasks as needed, such as, clean-up, flagging, layout, collecting delivery tickets and assisting the paver operator with daily paver adjustments. Also responsible for shoveling and raking asphalt and communicating any safety or quality issues with the foreman.
 
Responsibilities          

• Shovel and rake asphalt
• Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment
• Ability to perform simple calculations for areas and volume.
• Measures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, checks grade from string line.
• Prepare subgrade to fine grade specifications by hand as required.
• Perform other routine duties as directed by Foreman.

 
Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent technical training and related experience required
• Must have knowledge of screed and 2 year's experience
• Must have safety knowledge
• Must be able to flag traffic
• Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
• Asphalt related experience preferred ( Traffic Control, Striping, Distributor )
