Position Summary:

Provide expertise in the technical aspects of the electrical and instrumentation/controls scopes for large industrial projects. Efforts will include supporting business development, estimating and pre-construction, as well as providing guidance and support for field operations teams.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the electrical lead on the estimating team for heavy industrial project pursuits. This may include self-perform estimating, bid package assembly, solicitation, selection & contracting support.

• Perform constructability/feasibility reviews of Client’s electrical designs. Manage in-house and/or consulting engineers to perform electrical design.

• Assist business development pursuits with conceptual estimating, schedule and design analysis.

• Provide input and review of electrical engineering and construction schedules.

• Troubleshoot electrical/I&C issues with field teams as needed. Issues could include subcontractor management, constructability, startup/commissioning, etc.

• Provide general support for electrical/I&C quality assurance efforts at jobsites.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Thorough knowledge of industrial electrical/I&C construction methods, design, best practices, codes, components and terminology

• Able to read drawings, interpret work specifications and work scopes

• Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities

• Strong communication skills and ability to deal tactfully and efficiently at all levels of the organization

• Ability to effectively represent the company in meetings with Clients and outside parties

• Exceptional organizational and problem solving skills

• Awareness of operational safety requirements in an industrial environment and ability to apply and follow procedures and requirements per regulatory bodies

• Proficiency with computers, tablets, smartphones and associated software utilized in the construction industry.

 

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, construction management, or other applicable field

• A minimum of 7 years of experience supporting electrical/I&C work on large industrial projects

• Participation in the design phase of large industrial construction projects

• Experience in assembling electrical/I&C estimates and managing subcontractors/vendors

• Demonstrated ability to lead electrical quality assurance functions
