Site Materials Manager
This position is responsible for the implementation and management of the site Material Management Plan at one or more large industrial project sites.  Responsibilities generally include development and oversight of the project-specific Materials Management Plan (including Materials Management staff).  This is a site-based position that reports to the project’s Engineering Manager.

Duties:
  • Assist Kokosing Industrial management in evaluation and staffing of field-based material management personnel.
  • Coordinate the efforts of the project materials management staff, including day-to-day management of assigned personnel.
  • Review project-specific requirements to develop the overall Project Materials Management Plan.
  • Overall responsibility to coordinate the receipt and inventory and site handling of all equipment, materials, tooling, and consumables.
  • Fully document transfer of accountability for the material to required party in accordance with the Project Materials Management Plan.
  • Examine material delivered to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Organize and maintain material management logs, tracking information, and other related information into control system(s).  Maintain tracking data and reports in accordance with the Project Materials Management Plan.
  • Documentation and follow-through of non-conforming items such as shipping discrepancies, material or equipment damage or shortage.
  • Ensure established requirements are being followed for material maintenance and storage, including periodic inspection of storage elements and verification that scheduled maintenance is being performed and documentation protocols are followed.
  • Ensure project personnel are knowledgeable and compliant with project-specific materials management procedures, systems, protocol, and responsibilities.
  • Manage miscellaneous project purchases, including tooling and consumables.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with Kokosing’s client as it relates to the project material management program
Required Education, Training and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, construction management, or other applicable field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy industrial construction (experience with industrial piping, mechanical, and electrical systems is desired).
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of various construction materials, methods and techniques as related to civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and welding scopes of work.
  • Proficiency with computers, tablets, smartphones and associated software utilized in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English language.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
