We are seeking a Project Development Manager to lead the development of project opportunities throughout Ohio. Office location is Kokosing Industrial, Columbus, Ohio. Estimated time at a computer/desk is 35%+. Estimated time traveling is 65%.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Direct report to both Business Development Project Executives (Private/Federal Markets and Public/Treatment Plant Markets).

  • Interface with Regional Area Manager, Business Development, Marketing, Central Engineering Group (schedules, BIM, autocad, PE’s), Estimating, Project/Operations Teams.

  • Main focus is to identify and pursue alternative delivery water and wastewater treatment plant opportunities throughout Ohio (south of SR 30). Secondary is to identify industrial/private client project opportunities throughout the same region.

  • Formulate, monitor and coordinate all client research to support business development and marketing efforts for clients and pursuits within geographic region.

  • Work with marketing team to prepare written collateral, pre-qualifications, proposal responses (technical writing required), presentations and interviews for your pursuits.

  • Research market sector changes that are relevant to our 5 year strategic plan and annual operating plan; including competition, strategic intelligence and market and industry trends.

  • Monitor and mine project opportunities for your regional market from databases (Dodge, Industrial Info, Fedbizops, etc) then update team and CRM tracker system.

  • Attend internal meetings to ensure proper communication and allocation of resources to your pursuits. Initiate Go / No Go decision matrix for pursuits to present weekly to the team.

  • Analyze and recommend JV, EPC, engineering and subcontractor partners. Ensure team can comply with contract requirements, including diversity goals.

  • Responsible for coordination of preconstruction services and to assist with design-build services for the project – scheduling, budgeting, etc.

  • Participate in application of construction methods, resolution of conflicts, constructability reviews, value engineering solutions etc.

  • Attend pre-bid meetings, interviews, conferences and other engagements when requested.

  • Travel is involved with the position, throughout your region and to relevant trade shows.

  • As needed, assist other Project Development Managers.

  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four (4) year degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar.

  • Fifteen (15) years construction and/or engineering experience.

  • Proficient with technical writing and presentations.

Skill Set:

  • Engineering/Construction/Pre-construction knowledge that facilitates professional written and verbal communication skills during client interactions

  • Preconstruction skills including scheduling and budgeting

  • Very good organizational skills, able to work on multiple items for multiple clients concurrently

  • Persistent, with great time-management skills; able to prioritize activities while working under critical deadlines
