Area Aggregates core business is the mining, extraction, processing, handling and sale of construction aggregates (sand, gravel and limestone).
 
Summary
Assists in the operation of the aggregate processing plant as directed by supervision and the plant operator relating to safety, maintenance and production of the processing operation. 
 
Responsibilities:

• Inspects, cleans and performs repairs on mechanical equipment related to the aggregate processing plant
• Observes operation of equipment to detect malfunction and informs supervisor when malfunction occurs.
• Responsible for following accepted safe operating practices in all areas of production, maintenance, inspections, and housekeeping.
• Responsible for the safe operation of equipment and will be familiar with recommended operating procedures, operating limits and recommended practices and expectations for safety, maintenance, production and repair.

 
Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals, memorandums, safety information, and hazard labels, etc.
• General mechanical skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Good vision, depth perception, and hearing.

 
Qualifications: 

• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of the general operating principals for the processing plant.
• Working knowledge of plant processing.
• Knowledge of all related safety guidelines and procedures.
• Prior aggregate mining or similar mining experience required.
